Art-venture 11/17/16

I decided that I wanted a bit more excitement on the cover of my new mini sketchbook.

After going through a checklist I’ve recently developed to determine how well a painting is going, I figured out that I had a few problems to be worked out.

This is what I started with today.

I darkened her hair and weighs so that the highlights and sparklers world be more dramatic later on. I added a background of a starry night and lightened up the purple clouds a bit, just to give the painting more depth.

I started on the chest and made the skin tone a darker bluish, because warm orange tinted don’t make sense at night.

I’ll continue this on her face.

It’s also the 38th birthday of my best friend/love/partner in everything.
